5) For all showing, reports giving class and placing information
must be properly filled out and signed by the show secretary
from the show the horse performed in. The reports used for
this purpose are official NHQHA reports and those are the
only reports that will be accepted. If the proper reports
are not used or if they are not completely filled out the
horse will not receive any points for that show. These reports
may be obtained from the NHQHA office or downloaded from
this website and may be filed throughout the year as long
as they are postmarked by December 31st of that year. Any
reports postmarked after December 31st will not be figured
into final point totals.
6) Only horses owned or leased by current members of NHQHA
will eligible for any NHQHA awards or year-end awards. Horses
may be leased by multiple people but the points go under
the horse separately for each lessee. For example: If a
horse named Star is leased by Susie and John and both riders
enter barrel racing, points will be tallied up separately,
going towards two individual ROMs. Yes, a horse may have
2 ROMs or more in barrels, etc. The reason for this is that
it would be much easier for a horse to accumulate points
if it was being shown by more than one person and the points
all went under the same ROM. So, to be fair to the horse
that only has one rider, we came up with the multiple ROM
solution. For those of you who are wondering why we allow
multiple "same class" ROMs it is because we realize that
sometimes families might have more than one person wanting
to compete in the same event. Also, there are families who
cannot afford to own a horse but yet have the opportunity
to show through the generosity of a horse owner. With our
lease/show program owners can lease their horses for others
to ride and are not penalized should they want to show themselves.
